SUPPORT THEIR NOMINATION #ITSOURKNIGHT
We can’t believe it! And we wanted to share the news with you all that the inspirational Knight Family; X-TRIBE members since the day we opened in Edgware have been nominated for a National Fitness Award!
Their story is an amazing one, we are so proud of them and that their achievements are being recognised on a national level!
As you know we strive to help all our members achieve their X! It’s why we are here and get up every day.
The Knight Family are a great example of how the support we provide our members in creating individual programmes really can help them achieve their own X, whatever this may be.
We want every member to feel XCELERATED after every visit to the gym and we pride ourselves on being Made Different, Made Better and Made for Everyone with a clear focus on helping our members achieve their X!
For Dad Dave, his X was about helping him recover his fitness and strength after a diagnosis for thyroid cancer and the major surgery that followed in 2020. His commitment to the XCELERATE his individual workout plan has been inspirational, as are his results, as he has regained the strength in his right shoulder (after his cancer surgery) and built his fitness levels up to enable him to really push himself in the gym and go back to work full time. This is a truly inspirational achievement and he is a truly inspirational Dad.
For Mum Christina, who suffers with health conditions including fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, and chronic pain and has also struggled to lose weight in the past, the bespoke training programme, created through the gym’s on-boarding process was about helping her gaining the confidence to visit the gym more often and start to work on her weight loss. On starting her bespoke plan Christina lost 5lbs in the first two weeks and she has maintained her training and stayed the course, which has enabled her to continue her weight loss and has seen huge improvements in her fitness, health and wellbeing.
The family’s four children are also members with Xavier and Ella regularly participating in the X-NATION classes. Ella has since found a love for karate and alongside her classes at the gym she also now attends a local Karate club with her brother and her Dad.
If all this wasn’t amazing enough, in July of this year and spurred on by their ever improving fitness and new found confidence both Dave and Christina signed up to the gruelling Thames 13 Might Hike, to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Charities. With an original aim to raise £500 the family have now raised over £3000 and we think we can help them raise even more!
So after an incredibly tough 2020, the Knight family have come back fighting, they have committed to their training and without doubt they are on the road to achieving the full value of their X!
In recognition of their nomination to for the 2021 National Fitness Award we are asking all our amazing members, friends and partners to support our campaign for the Knight family using #ITSOURKNIGHT.
We will be posting from now until the Awards on 26th November and so please look out for these posts; like them, share them and send your best wishes to the Knights using #ITSOURKNIGHT

“When we joined XCELERATE GYM, we had never set foot in a gym in our lives! I joined to lose weight and improve my fitness. I have the chronic pain condition, Fibromyalgia. I also have Osteoarthritis in my knees and spine. So I didn’t think I would ever manage 1 session, let alone the 4 months I have been going. My husband Dave was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer a year ago, and is using the gym to rebuild strength in his shoulder following surgery. In July this year, we completed a 13 mile hike to raise money for MacMillan, we raised over £3000! Our children enjoy the gym sessions also, and as a family we love using the gym as it’s so family orientated and the staff are amazing!”
